Advantages of inflatable awnings: Quick and easy to set up
The main advantage of an inflatable awning is that it is quick to set up. There are no poles to put together, all you need is a pump. This means you can usually set up an inflatable awning on your own and don't need any help. It is much quicker to set up than a conventional awning.
An inflatable awning is also lighter than awnings with poles. This saves weight when transporting and setting up.
Erecting inflatable awnings
An inflatable awning is very easy to set up. You can set up the tent quickly in just a few simple steps:
- Roll out the awning
- Pull the awning into the piping rail of your vehicle
- Now you can connect the air pump and start inflating it
- If there is already a little air in it, you can erect the tent by hand
- Now you can continue inflating it until the prescribed pressure is reached
- Finally, tension the inflatable awning like a conventional tent and the awning is ready to pitch.
What to consider when buying an inflatable awning
The right size of awning is particularly important here. You should make sure that you buy an awning that also fits your camping vehicle. You should pay particular attention to the following dimensions: Connection height, piping thickness and piping retraction length.
A so-called piping rail is usually attached to camping vehicles. The awning is pulled in through this. For our awnings, we specify the piping retraction length of the awning. The length of the piping of the awning should be the same as the length of the piping rail on your vehicle. The piping thickness of the awning should also match the thickness of your piping rail.
The last dimension you should consider is the connection height. Here too, the connection height of your camping vehicle should match the connection height of the awning.
Accessories for air awnings
There is a wide range of accessories for awnings. Which you need depends on how you want to use your awning. If you want to set up an additional sleeping area in the inflatable awning, you can purchase inner tents that function as sleeping cabins. This allows you to create separate sleeping areas that offer some privacy.
A tent underlay and a tent carpet are suitable as protection against moisture, cold and dirt. You can simply lay these out in the awning to provide a dry and comfortable surface.
An inner canopy is recommended to protect you from dripping condensation. And if there is suddenly not enough space in the awning, you can create additional space with an extension.
